Wow!!! It's been so long.....

Well, it has been over 2 years since our last blog. So many websites and things to keep up with. Stuff here has been busy and stressful, getting ready for the holidays. Max is now 3 and precocious as always. Olivia is 9 and in 4th grade. Straight A student in all 13 subjects. She participates in Girl Scouts, Band - where she is 1st chair, Girls Basketball and after school art (just for six weeks). Max is very verbal and vocal. He loves trains, fire trucks and singing along to Johnny Cash. I will try to post pictures when I can and more on the blog when our computer is up and running again. Check out this Jibjab clip of us "elfing ourselves". http://elfyourself.jibjab.com/view/e597lGvDZ5Ly5KbU?cmpid=ey_fb_friend
Enjoy!

Max checkup

About a week ago, Max started crawling... and.... wow! He CRAWLS! He's everywhere. We're having a tough time keeping up with him.

Now, get this.... Max has a huge head. I mean GIGANTIC. Yes, Mark, I know what you're thinking..."It's like an orange on a toothpick!.....He'll be cryin' himself to sleep tonight on his huge pillow."
Anyway... About two days ago, Max was crawling and his head was so big he had a hard time holding it up. So he fell face-first into the carpet (from crawling position). Now, this, of course, did not do any damage to him. But he sat up with a look of shock, realized that he just went "bonk", and started to cry. In fact, he was so upset, that he threw himself backward and bonked the back of his head on the carpet again. All in all, I think he bonked his head about six times that day.

Today Max went to the doc for a routine checkup. He is 28 lbs (which is in the 85th percentile, 29.5 inches (90th percentile), and - get this - his head is 47.5 cm around (95th percentile). I tell ya the kid's head is like a planetoid.

He sure is a good kid, though.

Hey everybody! Here's another post!

Olivia's lost one of her front teeth and the other is loose. She's swimming like a fish! This summer, she's taking swimming lessons, karate lessons, piano lessons, and she's in summer safari (that where she goes to her school for a while, but no intense learning - just playing with friends, arts & crafts, etc.). It's a lot better than her staying at home watching TV all summer.

Hey - If you have a Mustek PF-A700B digital picture frame (like the one my parents gave me for Christmas)... and if you haven't figured out how to get the images to fit full screen, here's what you do:

1) Setup the frame so that it's in 16:9 mode
2) crop your image to 960 x 536 pixels
3) resize the image to 624 x 468 pixels (do NOT constrain proportions)

Is this thing on?

Well, I haven't added a post for a while. Is anyone still reading this? Should I continue posting? If you feel that I should, add a comment below.

We've Been Sick, Tired and Missing......

Well, we all have been sick since January. It started the 2nd week in January with Max getting a cold, then the next week he had an ear infection, then that was followed by another cold. Kristin came down with that one and then Carl. Olivia was safe. So, as Kristin and Carl were recooperating, Max and Olivia were well. Then came RSV.....late nights, breathing treatments, medications upon medications. Poor Max...little man learned to take and deal with alot those three weeks. Then Carl got a stomach virus, 3 days after that he had a cold. Then Olivia got a little bit of that cold or was suffering from allergies. Now, Kristin has the cold and Carl's came back to haunt him. Fortunately, we all made it through Spring Break. Through it all Max has grown and gained weight. He is currently 19.6 lbs and about 26+ inches long. He is grabbing for things, rolling over, teething (cut two last month) and sleeping 8 to 9 hours a night. Yeah!!!! He is 5 months old today.

We took the children to have their portraits taken last weekend. Max was too tired, but they turned out well. This was his first professional portrait. We were not able to take him sooner since he had been sick. So we had his done and then the two together in their Easter Outfits. We will be picking the pictures up soon and mailing them out to family and posting them online.

Olivia has been in glasses since December due to astygmatisms in both eyes. Now she has to patch the left eye to work out the right eye until June. She has been a real trooper about it all. Kristin will have a month off this summer but we will not be going on any kind of vacation due to finances. Our vacation fund and then some is being used to pay for many, many medical bills and getting caught up after Kristin was off from work with no pay for 2 1/2 months. Will try to post again soon. The next couple of months are busy for us with Anniversaries, birthdays, Bluebonnets, end of school, etc. etc. and so on.

technical difficutlies

Tough night with the computer equipment tonight. I couldn't get internect access. AFter much fiddling, I discover that my router/firewall is dead. So I cable up directly to my cablemodem (no firewall - not a good idea) and I soon discover that both all of our email accounts (mine and kristin's) are dead. So then, as I decided to create this post on my blog, my Firefox browser crashed and now it won't start at all.
